Parents and students who are unable to attend a LHS Laptop Information meeting may watch a recording of one of the meetings by clicking on the "Videos on Canvas" button above. Students will need their S-number and their password to login. The Canvas course title is "LHS 1:1 Questionnaire".

Getting a Laptop or Other Device
Though our work with iSchoolCampus the Logan City School District has received funding from the Governor's Office of Economic Development (GOED) and purchased 11" MacBook Air computers for students in our one-to-one initiative. These meetings are open to parents, students and interested community members. Paperwork for receiving a laptop may be completed at these meetings. Check Out Procedure
Tomorrow is Laptop Distribution Day at Logan High School. Our goal is to hand out all remaining laptops. All laptops will be distributed in the cafeteria. Students will be called by grade level beginning at 7:45 a.m. The Technology Office will be closed all day tomorrow, except for students who are receiving a laptop. No problems with devices will be addressed before Friday so distribution may be completed for all students. This will be the first opportunity for 9th and 10th grade students to receive a laptop. Students who come with paperwork ready will be served the quickest. Students will need:

Parents may also choose to self-insure by using their home owner’s insurance. If this is the case, parents should check the box indicating they are participating in the LCSD Accident Protection Plan, but not check the box that they are paying the $50 annual fee and make a note on the form that saying, “I will be using my home owner’s insurance to cover any damages to the laptop.” A parent will need to sign the LCSD Accident Protection Plan. Payment may be made for the LCSD Accident Protection Plan by logging into the Pay-For-It website and making a payment on the Fees tab online at: https://www.payforit.net Students who have made payment should print out a receipt to bring with them. If more than one student lives in your home, the oldest student should bring in the completed LCSD Accident Protection Plan and all students should bring a copy of the receipt. |
Check Out Procedure (continued) All 9th Graders should have attended the LHS Laptop Information Meeting last week. If 9th Graders were unable to attend they may complete the LHS 1:1 Canvas course found on the district website by clicking on the Laptop picture or going to this link: https://loganschools.instructure.com/login/canvas Due to the network enrollment step required for 9th graders only, all 9th Grade students will receive their laptops between 2:00 and 5:00 p.m. tomorrow on the following schedule:
Students unable to check out a laptop on Thursday may visit the Technology Office next to the cafeteria from 2:00-4:00 p.m. after tomorrow to enroll in the LHS Laptop Program and receive a laptop. Laptops will be available for daily checkout at the LHS Technology Office for students not taking them home, beginning Friday, September 9, 2016. Returning a Device Students are expected to return laptops to the school by the last day of enrollment with the school district. For returning students, devices may go home over the summer with proof of insurance through the school district or another provider. Responsible Use Agreement
All students are required to sign a responsible use agreement with the school district at the beginning of each school year or upon their enrollment with the school district.
Insurance
The school district has prepared an insurance program to enable students to take the laptop off campus. Students will need to enroll in this insurance program at Information Meetings or on Laptop Checkout Days before taking a laptop off campus.
(Verification of home owner's insurance coverage or verification of insurance for loss, theft, or damage through another provider may be presented as an alternative to purchasing insurance through the school district.) Device Repairs
The school district employees device repair experts to assist both students and staff at the school. When devices are sent out for repair, another device will be provided on loan until repairs are completed. |
